The short version: this is a free, educational estimating tool — not financial, career, tax, or legal advice. Changing jobs is a big decision, and a job's real value depends on details a one-page tool can only approximate — plan documents, vesting schedules, stock performance, health-plan fine print. The numbers shown are illustrations based on inputs you choose. Before accepting or declining an offer over these numbers, verify the benefits with the actual plan documents and HR. Use it at your own risk.

Not professional advice

This tool does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, career, or accounting advice, and using it does not create any advisory or professional relationship. It is a self-service calculator for general educational and informational purposes only. Nothing it displays should be taken as a recommendation to accept, decline, or negotiate any job offer, or to take any other action. This tool also sells nothing — it runs no ads and has no affiliate, referral, or sponsorship relationships with any employer, recruiter, brokerage, or financial company, so it earns nothing from what you decide and has no incentive to steer you anywhere.

Simplified math, real fine print

The calculator values the major components of a compensation package — salary, bonus, 401(k)/403(b)/TSP match structures (capped at the 2026 §401(a)(17) compensation limit), automatic employer contributions, an employer-funded pension estimate, employer-paid health premiums, HSA contributions, RSU vesting, ESPP discounts (within the §423 $25,000 limit), paid time off, and cash perks. Real packages have more moving parts: match and employer-contribution vesting schedules (unvested money isn't yours yet), bonus targets that don't pay out, stock that moves, health plans whose deductibles and networks differ far more than their premiums, ESPP lookback provisions, pension formulas with service and age conditions, severance, and more. The FERS figures are a good-faith annual-value estimate built on OPM's published normal-cost rates — not a projection of your actual annuity. If any of this fine print matters to your decision, check the plan documents.

Estimates, not guarantees

Every figure is an estimate built from the inputs you provide using simplified math. Benefit plans change, limits are adjusted annually, and equity values move daily. Actual results will differ. No accuracy, completeness, or outcome is promised, and the calculations may contain errors. Do not accept or decline an offer based on this tool alone.

Verify with the official sources

For a decision this important, an hour with a fee-only advisor — paid for advice rather than for selling a product — is worth real money.
